Rwanda Chimpanzee Trekking Tours & Safaris

Rwanda has about 500 chimpanzees in Nyungwe National Park in the south between Gikongoro and Cyangugu. Another small community of about 20 chimps is found in Cyamudongo Forest, not far from Nyungwe Forest. Communities of chimps that available for tracking are habituated.

Chimp trekking in Nyungwe is a thrilling wildlife experience. The forest is incredibly rich in biodiversity. There are lots of primates, birds and more wildlife to view during the trekking. You'll hear the chimps' trademark pant-hoot chants from a distance before seeing the chimps. Chimps are light animals, always moving high up in trees. There is a probability that you can fail to find them.
It is feasible to visit both Nyungwe and Cyamudongo for better chances of viewing the chimps.
