2 Days Uganda Safari Trip to Murchison Falls National Park

Covering 3,840 square kilometers, Murchison Falls National Park is Uganda's largest national park. It is popular for its incredible wildlife diversity and the iconic Murchison Falls. With the Boat trip on the Nile and the early morning game drive, expect great game sightings including Lions, Kobs, Oribis, Jackson's hartebeests, Buffalos, Elephants, Giraffes, Hippos, Crocodiles, Baboons, Warthogs, Bushbucks, Waterbucks, and a cocktail of birds.

Itinerary

Day 1: Depart from Kampala to Murchison Falls National Park, Boat Trip

Have early breakfast and prepare for pick-up at exactly 6.30am to start your 2,days safari to Uganda's biggest National Park driving along the Kampala-Gulu high way with a brief stop over in Luwero District to pick a couple of fruits say oranges, pineapples, passion fruits. Get to Murchison Falls National Park and drive to the top of the Murchison Falls. You get to witness the whole Nile squeeze through a narrow gorge of about only 7 meters wide and exploding into violent waterfalls into a whirlpool about 43 meters below. The sight of this world's strongest waterfall is breathtaking.

Proceed for your lunch, later set out for the 2.30pm wildlife Launch cruise on River Nile. This is a must do for any safari to Murchison Falls National Park. A relaxing ride of about three and half hours, you enjoy up-close sightings of a number of wildlife that throng the banks of River Nile namely hippos, crocodiles, buffalos, elephants, monitor lizards, warthogs, and a cocktail of birds such as African fish eagles, red-throated bee eaters, skimmers, cattle egrets, and the elusive shoebill among others. The Boat ride takes you to the base of the Murchison Falls for yet another sight of these glamorous falls.

Day 2: Game Drive, Travel to Kampala

Be up for early morning breakfast at about 6.00am and set out for the early morning game drive by 6.30am. The timing is great to catch the nocturnal and hunters before returning to their hideouts. Explore the major game tracks, Queen and Albert, for great sightings of elephants, lions, giraffes, antelopes, Jackals, hyenas, Uganda kobs, oribis, buffalos, waterbucks, Jackson's Hartebeests, bushbucks and hopefully the elusive leopards among others.

After more than 4 hours of a wonderful wildlife experience, check out of the park and embark on your return journey to Kampala. Lunch at the Kabalega dinner on the Kampala/Gulu highway.

Rhino tracking at the Ziwa Sanctuary. You may add a Rhino tracking visit to the sanctuary on day 2 after lunch at the Kabalega Dinners,kindly expect to arrive back in Kampala by 7/8PM mainly because of heavy traffic as you approach the Kampala Northern by pass to connect to the main city center.
